M4 night closures at Concord

07 Sep 2017

Motorists are advised of upcoming overnight road closures on the M4 Motorway at Concord as work continues on the WestConnex New M4 twin tunnels. The M4 will be closed westbound between Parramatta Road, Concord and Homebush Bay Drive, Homebush from 11pm to 5am for four nights from Monday 11 September. In addition, the M4 will be closed eastbound between Sydney Street and Parramatta Road, Concord, and Concord Road will be closed in both directions between Patterson Street and Parramatta Road, Concord, from 11pm to 5am for two nights from Wednesday 13 September. New M4 Project Director Terry Chapman said the closures were required for the construction of surface connections for the New M4. “We thank motorists for their patience while this important overnight work is carried out to deliver the New M4 from Homebush to Haberfield,” Mr Chapman said. “The work involves finalising the new westbound Homebush Bay Drive off-ramp and continuing construction of the new on-ramp from Concord Road southbound to the M4 westbound. “Westbound motorists are also advised that new access to the Homebush Bay Drive off-ramp will be in place from Thursday 14 September, with the exit moving around 400 metres earlier than the current ramp,” he said. Motorists are encouraged to plan their journey in advance, allow extra travel time and follow the signs. Detours will be in place for the overnight closures, with access to the M4 westbound available via Silverwater Road or Homebush Bay Drive. There are also overnight closures of the westbound Homebush Bay Drive off-ramp through most of September.
