M4 westbound on-ramp at Hill Road closed from tomorrow night

Motorists and residents are advised of upcoming changed traffic conditions on the M4 westbound on-ramp at Hill Road at Lidcombe as part of the WestConnex M4 Widening. The existing M4 westbound on-ramp at Hill Road is being widened and lengthened. To allow for this work, the ramp is scheduled to be closed for eight weeks from tomorrow night (Friday 8 January) to 5 March 2016. All work is weather permitting. It will include: Earthworks and installation of flexible pavement Barrier removal and construction of new barriers Services relocation Drainage installation. Motorists wishing to join the M4 will be diverted onto Parramatta Road and can access the motorway from the Silverwater Road on-ramp. Alternatively, motorists can join the M4 by using Holker Street and Silverwater Road on-ramp. The diversions will be clearly advised on variable message signs. The following intersections are expected to experience temporary additional traffic due to the closure: Hill Road and Parramatta Road, Homebush Bay Silverwater Road, Parramatta Road and St Hilliers Road, Auburn Silverwater Road and Holker Street, Silverwater Silverwater Road and M4 interchange, Silverwater. Motorists are likely to experience increased delays on roads within the Olympic Park precinct while this ramp closure is in place, particularly during busy times such as when major events are on. Spectators attending events at Olympic Park over this period are strongly urged to use public transport. After work is finished, the M4 westbound on-ramp at Hill Road will reopen to motorists.
